Liberal Libya

Today has been Colonel Gaddaffis last day on earth. Our Prime Minister, Dave Cameron, is quoted as saying 'The prime minister said people in Libya now had an even greater chance to build a strong and democratic future'.

Good for them. So what about us in the UK?

Today also, the three main UK parties have told their MPs to oppose a vote in the commons, on whether or not to hold a referendum of our continued membership of the EU. Dave is quoted thus:-

'David Cameron has argued he shares MPs' frustrations with the costs and bureaucracy involved in EU membership, but would oppose calls for a vote on whether to quit, saying it "is not our policy".

Looks like we might stand a better chance of exerting our democratic rights in Libya!
